About to buy a WII - need advice

I'm at the checkout online with a wii system HD ready and 5 sport game pack. I'm also buying a second controller. Does anyone know what the nunchuck is for? do i need one? also, do i need anything else. I most want it for the sports. thanks

Yes the nunchuck is for playing other wii games. More of the hardcore wii titles such as Red Steel or legend of zelda need a nunchuck to play. Get one becuase just about three fourths of the wii games use it.
