problem with my one screen pointers

Evening all, can anyone help?
I recently bought a wireless sensor bar as the rabbit ate the last ones wire!
When I play games such as resident evil, the sights won't move on the screen but I can still use the hand held controller?

For example, WII sports. When I go to the menu, the finger and hand comes up on the screen and I navigate as normal. When I go into the game the finger disappears and I have to use the buttons to get to games. However, when I play the hand set works as normal?

Anyone heard of this problem and any suggestions? It is the same for both hand controls?

So the sensor must work, the hand controls work, but I can't navigate once in games with it on the screen?
